Columbia River Gorge

We spent the weekend out in the Gorge, taking a beautiful hike to Wahclella Falls. These are perhaps the most active falls we've seen in Oregon; well worth the short one mile hike.

That evening we spent at the Cooper Spur Resort, a cozy set of cottages on the NE side of Mt. Hood. We caught the opening day for Timberline and the first snow of the season!

Roman's First Halloween

Roman had quite a busy Halloween week. First Roman and I ran the Run Like Hell 5K race where he wore costume #1, a cow. Next up, we had a costume party at play group and Roman dressed up in costume #2, a giraffe. We ended Halloween week with Roman hosting his first party for all of buddies. Roman wore a Yoda costume complete with Yoda ears and light saber and in support of him, Peter and I dressed up as Luke Skywalker and Princes Leia... the Empire Strikes Back version, so no cinnamon bun hair for me.

Here are some photos of the week in costume with more posted on

Golf, anyone?

We spent this past Sunday at McMenamins Edgefiled to grab lunch, relax, and even play some golf. Who'd of thought you could drink a beer, carry a baby, and play a round of par-3 pitch and putt? Charles even got a hole in one, by our within-6-inches rule.

East Coast 2009

We had a wonderful visit to Philadelphia and Boston at the start of September. Roman met his great-grandmothers Anne and Mimsey, who had a hard time letting him go after such a short visit! It was great to see so many family and friends, including some Peter had not seen since his childhood!
